What to expect?

The acupuncture intake session consists of an in-depth conversation about your reasons for seeking treatment, your medical history, personal history, current lifestyle, and an acupuncture treatment. Please eat a meal before treatment, wear loose-fitting comfortable clothing, and please refrain from wearing any strong perfumes or scents.

Depending on what brings you in for treatment, acupuncture often works best when there is consistent treatment twice a week for the first two weeks, then spreading to once a week for a total of around 3-6 sessions to start, sometimes less. If twice a week is not possible, once a week is also good. As you feel better, we may begin to space out treatment to every couple weeks, every few weeks, and later to monthly treatment depending on the nature of your concern. Should your concern resolve within the first 3-6 treatments or less, you may discontinue treatment until an acute concern arises, and, you may also elect to come in monthly and or seasonally for balance and preventative care.

Do you take insurance?

I do not currently take insurance, however I will soon be credentialed as in network with ASH and UHC. In the meantime I do provide a super bill as a statement/receipt of your treatments which you can submit to your provider if acupuncture is covered. You may use your HSA account for payment.

What is your cancellation policy?

Your appointment time is reserved for you.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours advance notice. Without 24 hours notice, you will be charged for the appointment in full. If you do not appear for a scheduled appointment without notice, you will be charged for the appointment.

Afraid of Needles?

One of the styles of acupuncture that I practice is a unique style of acupuncture called Neoclassical Acupuncture. In Neoclassical Acupuncture I often utilize only one needle in treatment and see amazing results. This treatment is a face-up/clothing-on treatment which makes things easy for those who are concerned about the thin almost human-hair-sized needles used, and where movement is potentially limited with regards to disrobing for whatever reason.
